Tulsi, scientifically known as Ocimum sanctum, is commonly referred to as Holy Basil and is widely regarded as the Queen of Herbs. Tulsi, widely employed in Ayurvedic therapy, is said to possess numerous bodily and spiritual advantages. Tulsi is mostly cultivated in the northern regions of India and is available in three different kinds.
The three types of basil plants mentioned are Rama (Ocimum sanctum), Vana (Ocimum gratissimum), and Krishna (Ocimum sanctum). Every variety of Tulsi possesses distinct physical characteristics and taste preferences. The Krishna variant is highly distinguishable and readily available or cultivable.
Tulsi occupies a significant position in Hinduism, being commonly present in numerous households due to its spiritual significance. Tulsi is considered to provide positive energy, and people perform prayers to it. According to Ayurvedic principles, Tulsi promotes stress reduction, enhances immune function, aids in blood sugar regulation, and contributes to overall life balance and harmony.
